GM, Chrylser Fall, Again

The government owned General Motors and Chrysler Group LLC continued their trend of declining sales numbers.  GM posted a 20% decline in sales while Chrysler posted a 9.9% drop in sales over August 2008.

Ford posted a 21% increase in retail sales and the second month in a row for a sales increase.  The popular Cash for Clunkers program helped Ford set new sales records with several of its models and also helped Ford gain market share for 10 out of the last 11 months.
